Can I join these programs if I am not a Texas resident?No, the program is only open to people who currently live in Texas.

What if I permanently move out of Texas while enrolled in the program?Sorry, but if you permanently move out of Texas during the program, you will no longer be eligible to stay in the program.

Can I join both the Moms Quit program and the Smoke-Free Homes program?Yes, you can join both the Moms Quit program and the Smoke-Free Homes program.

Can I join these programs if I am younger than 18 years of age?No, you MUST be 18 years or older to participate in these programs.

Can I join these programs if I do not speak either English or Spanish?No, these programs are only available in English and Spanish.

Will my information be kept confidential?Yes, we take your confidentiality very seriously. Your name and any other identifying information are completely confidential.

Will participating in these programs affect my health insurance status?No. Participating in these programs is completely free and it will not affect your health insurance status.

Will participating in these programs affect my job?No, we will keep your information confidential. Your employer will not know that you are participating in our programs, and will not have access to your portfolio.

When will these programs end?We expect to enroll our last participant in May 2023.

I am worried about COVID 19. Does participating in these programs increase my risk of getting COVID 19?No. These programs are all done remotely. There are no face-to-face interactions required.

Will participating in these programs interfere with my work schedule?No. Although participating in these programs will require some time commitment for calls, we will work around and accommodate your schedule.

Do I have to pay anything to participate in the Moms Quit program?No, this program is funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). It is completely free to participate in.

Who is eligible to join the Moms Quit program?Women are eligible to participate in the Moms Quit program if they: - Are 36 weeks pregnant or less - Are at least 18 years of age - Are current users of any form of tobacco OR have ever used any form of tobacco during this pregnancy OR have used any form of tobacco in the 3-month period prior to this pregnancy - Live in Texas - Have access to a smart phone and are able to download apps - Can read, write, listen, and speak in either English or Spanish

Who is eligible to join the Moms Quit program as a household support partner?Smokers living with a main participant (pregnant woman) in the Moms Quit program are eligible to participate if they: - Are at least 18 years of age - Are current users of inhalable tobacco products OR quit since the main participant became pregnant OR quit 3-month prior to the main participant becoming pregnant. - Live in Texas - Live with the main participant when joining the Moms Quit Program and will continue to live with the main participant 6 months after the baby’s delivery - Have access to a smart phone and are able to download apps - Can read, write, listen, and speak in either English or Spanish

Can I have more than one household support partner join the Moms Quit program with me?No. This program only allows one household support partner for each participating pregnant woman.

How will I get my rewards for participating in the Moms Quit program?You will be provided with Amazon E-gift cards and electronic diaper vouchers that you can use at Walmart.

How long will I be participating in the Moms Quit program?You can join this program anytime during your pregnancy, before 36 weeks, and you may participate in this program until 6-months after you give birth.

It seems that participating in the Moms Quit program is a commitment of several months. What happens if I cannot stay in the program until 6-months after I give birth?Although we would like you to stay in this program from the beginning to the end to obtain the maximum benefits of the program, we understand that things happen and you may leave the program. In this case, you may not receive all the rewards and benefits of the program.

Do I have to pay anything to participate in the Smoke-Free Homes intervention program?No, the program is completely free to participate in. You will be provided all program materials and service free of charge.

Who is eligible to join the Smoke-Free Homes program?Women are eligible to participate in the Smoke-Free Homes program if they: - Live in a home where at least one person smokes - Are at least 18 years of age - Live in Texas - Can read, write, listen, and speak in either English or Spanish

Are there rewards to participating in the Smoke-Free Homes program?Participating in the Smoke-Free Homes program will help reduce your secondhand and thirdhand smoke exposure at home, motivate the smoker to quit, and improve the entire household’s overall health. Moreover, you can receive up to $50 in rewards for participating. Finally, you will receive free personalized counseling and educational materials.

How will I get my rewards for participating in the Smoke-Free Homes program?You will be provided with Amazon E-gift cards after completing surveys.

How long will the Smoke-Free Homes program last?The Smoke-Free Homes program will last for a total of three months. However, the program is delivered within 6 weeks and the final survey will be sent to you at 3 months.

Who funds the TAMU Tobacco-Free Texas Moms Program?This program is supported by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).
